I'm always on the look out for bargain beauty deals. At my local dollar store I spotted Maybelline's Great Wear Waterproof eye liner. I decided to try it out. At home, I swatched it on my hand and was surprised to see that with rubbing it stayed on pretty well. I was excited and ready to go back to buy more of the colors, but made myself test it out for a couple of days first. The liner stayed put all day with absolutely no smearing and had great pigment. After a couple of days, I noticed that it got harder to apply on my eye. The consistency was not creamy in the first place, but this just began to irritate my eye upon application. The point to this is, sometimes you get what you pay for. The irritation and tugging and pulling of my eye was not worth the $1. However, I'm still a sucker for good deals and will continue to test out and report products.
Picked up some Fix +, Viva Glam V l/s, and Modelette e/s from the Warm & Cozy collection.
The e/s wasn't something I was going to pick up but the MA let me try it out and I think it would look great on all skin types.
This is an alternative to the usual silicon-based fave primers (like Smashbox's Photofinish). I just tried it out today with my MUFE HD liquid foundation and noticed a difference in the way my makeup felt on my face. My foundation felt much lighter and it did the same job as any of the other primers I've tried. I'm in California right now, and will do a thorough review once I test it out in the hot, humid Florida weather.
